Should I get a Wii or a Playstation?

a wii they are lots of fun, and original, plus u can also play gamecube games with them so its like ur getting two systems in one
plus making miis are a good way to waste time
and if i remember correctly they are cheaper of the two

It is not only based on money. The PS3 has better graphics and the Blu Ray DVD player, but the Wii has more worthwhile games (PS3 only has Resistance: Fall of Man) and full backwards compatibility with the Gamecube. Both have Internet ability, but Wii has a huge Virtual Console library. Of course the Wii is harder to find nowadays, while PS3s still fill the shelves. If you want a Wii be prepared to search high and low or pay mass amounts of cash on eBay.
Several big-name game releases on the PS3 are moving to the Xbox360 due to all the trouble Sony has had, and the biggest Wii-only franchises are yet to come i.e. Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn.

Ok well I read over the other answers here and I wanted to put my 2 cents in.

My husband and I just bought a Wii yesterday 3/25/07. Circuit City was only getting 17 in stock. Well we got #14 of the 17 that was coming in.
I played that thing all day yesterday. My arm is killing me from bowling so much. I love the Wii. It is so much fun to play.

But you also have to look at the price of the two. The wii is going for $250 and the PS3 is around $500. So there is a price difference.
Also you have to look at what kind of games you want to play. With the wii you can go online and download games from all of the past Nintendo systems. So if you liked any of the old Nintendo games well more than likely you will be able to play them again.

With the PS3 you will have better graphics and yeah there is so many games for it right now but they are already talking about making a PS4 launch date if I heard right was 2010. So in another 3 years there will be yet another gaming system out.
It may be sooner than that but..... My vote is for the Wii, just because you get 5 games preloaded on it already, (at no cost to you) plus you can buy the Wii Games for $50.00 and get another 7 games and another Wii Mote. The Wii mote by it's self is $50.00 so you get the extra 7 games for free basically.
Just my opinion from a girls point of view.

I imagine that you are talking about PS3. You should definitely
get the PlayStation because Wii is boring. You just buy Wii play with it for a month and then you are bored because there are not much games for Wii and also Wii has very poor graphics.

it boils down to this, what type of games are you interested in? Realistic violence or Slap-happy comedy/ all around fun?
If you like the first then go with the PS3 if you like the second then get the Wii. Personally I like the Wii because I know many more "surprise" items will be making their way to store in the future. With a PS3 you get what you buy- THATS IT!

The novelty of the Wii will wear off quickly and you will be upset that you paid 250 -300 for it. If those are your only options, go with the Playstation 3.

it all depends on how much you want to spend. i know the wii is going about 300's and the PS3 is going about the 500-600... hahaa the dollar difference is there but the graphics is alot better for ps3. but than the wii is more a physical activite than a video game. an ingenious move by nintendo

I would get a Wii. First of all it is cheaper, and second of all it is new and innovative. Plus, if you were worried about not being able to play the awesome PS3 games, don't worry because most of them are coming out for other systems.

get a wii, its more fun if you want a high end system get a xbox 360 ps3 is a waste of money

if ur a four year old then get the wii. but if ur not then get the ps3 or xbox 360
