Just say adults only. Most people won't be offended (I know I certainly wouldn't) and it's easier to understand than writing it in a cute way. Make it simple. People appreciate simplicity.

Just says it's an adult only shower. You don't have to make it cute because you won't offend anyone. It's normal to have an adult only shower and for most people, it's assumed that kids aren't invited anyway.

If it is women only - write "Ladies Only." If it is co-ed, you're asking for trouble as couples are more than likely to have children. I guess in that case you can say "the only child attending will be the bun in the oven," or something like that. Or, just say adults only.

I agree that it doesn't need to be written out cutesie. Have the shower invites state that you only want adults and when they RSVP you remind them to leave little suzie at home. Don't be rude, but be firm or children will eventually start arriving with their parents and you wont have the shower that you are wanting. Godd luck.

Don't go to too much trouble--people will probably be glad to have you specify it, since they might be wondering otherwise. Just add it at the bottom, like: "P.S.--Grown-ups only, so leave the kids at home!" Since the age cut-off might be a little unclear, if there are teens you want to invite, be sure you put their names on the invitation if you're sending one to their parents, or send them a separate invitation.
Have fun, and congrats!!

Most people know that showers are for adults only. Are you inviting people who you think will bring their children? Usually people will call and ask if it's okay. I would ask the mom to be and see what she thinks. It is her shower. ;) Good luck and have fun!

What would make it work for me would have a sitter available. Write that if child care is needed it is available. It will make it so people with children do not feel excluded. I can't think of a cute way of saying it.

No, i do no longer think of it fairly is undesirable in any respect. I warfare with toddler showers by using fact too many times they exchange right into a "provide me presents" social gathering quite of purely celebrating you and your quickly to be/new toddler. given which you have been making plans a bathtub possibilities are high human beings will nonetheless carry you presents. you additionally can no longer cancel your bathe given which you may sense extra ideal next week. There are fairly very few issues you prefer. you prefer a thank you to feed your toddler, issues to maintain your toddler heat, issues to maintain your toddler sparkling, and a place on your toddler to sleep. while you are going to breast feed all you prefer are your breasts and a few nipple cream (which you fairly do no longer even *prefer*). Breast fed toddlers would desire to nurse each a million-2 hours (no longer each 2-3 like hospitals enable you already know). that is difficulty-loose for a new child to prefer to nurse especially lots all day on an identical time as your milk furnish is being prevalent, and that's ok. while you are going to formulation feed all you prefer is a few formulation, a pair of bottles, and a bottle brush. heat temperature: you, clothing, and blankets. you would be high quality with some onesies and a few blankets. toddlers many times prefer one extra desirable layer than you may desire to stay heat. A onesie and a swaddle (being wrapped up in a blanket) is massive. Snuggling with you is likewise a great decision. Cleanliness: of course you will prefer diapers and wipes. Newborns are not getting very grimy, so which you will no longer truthfully prefer any toddler wash or something for a on an identical time as. Sponge baths are cautioned till the umbilical cord falls off, so employing some toddler wipes is sufficient. A bulb syringe is likewise a sturdy element to have besides as some comfortable toddler washcloths (or comfortable flannel). Sleep: between the ideal places for a new child to sleep is with you. she would be unsleeping sufficient to consume and probable no longer lots extra desirable than that. that is high quality for her to nap in a swing or bouncer, sleep in a crib or bassinet, yet drowsing with you is maximum secure and ideal in case you do it properly. It components her with risk-free practices, heat temperature, hassle-free accessibility to nurse, facilitates stay away from SIDS, and makes you the two sleep extra ideal.
