It most definately has to be the 60`s and 70`s ( giving my age away now!) But quite honestly-well you just had to be there.I think it speaks for itself as well, in that even little kids know who elvis was,the beatles, mick jagger, phil collins, elton john-just to name a few. What other era can boast so many well known and well loved names? I love music but to be honest the music nowadays is-well to be blunt-rubbish. Just a load of meaningless noise, you can`t make out the words. We`ll never have music like in the 60`s and 70`s again-that`s for sure-but looking on the bright side, it will never be forgotten either.

That's a hard question to answer as I have got some great music from the late 60s all through the 70s and up to the mid 80s. So find it hard to say that just 1 decade was better than the other, but I do think that music started to lose it's way from the 90s onward.

the 80's, some of the most cheesiest music i have ever heard, even the greats had some well dodgy tracks. the 70's was proper pop and porn music while the 90's well, lets not go there and 2000 pop is just a joke. What the **** is pop idol about! let smash the dreams of wanna be's who cant sing anyway and then convince the public to buy this ****, did i forget to mention they are judged by people who are only interested in there bank account and not what music is about. Rock music will always be rock music, like the full moon, that will always be constant so let it be.

My guy or woman accepted is the 1990's thinking it is the final decade when I got here of age. besides the fact that, I evaluate the valuable era for extensive-unfold music was once many times the late 60's and early 70's. I purely prefer I have been around then! Least accepted- 1999-2009

I love the 80's. So many bands from the 80's are still around and creating awesome music, like U2! Plus it was in the 80's that Rap was born ;).
I am not a big fan of the music today. There are some good groups, but it just seems like the music sounds the same, just different group singing it.

I would say the 60s and the 80s are tied. Pop music was at its peak during both decades. Lots of great tunes.
