We want near to the beach. I have 3 year old twins and 8 year old. What are some neat things to do there?

The first answer was right on. The Crest is a little quieter, with more houses available for rent. Rather than hotels. Most of the clubs and bars are in Wildwood, but with kids that age I suspect that doesn't matter. I have stayed in both, and would recommend the crest. Although for a great family get away on the beach I recommend Ocean City NJ. Very quiet, but still has a boardwalk with rides and game. Also it is a dry town, which makes it more a family spot to go on vacation.

Wildwood is just north of Wildwood Crest.
The Crest is a bit quieter, still close to the beach & all, but not as near the boardwalk, arcades, bars/clubs, and rides.
The Crest also has less partying going on, although Wildwood is tame compared to other areas of the Jersey shore.
For a family vacation, I'd opt for Wildwood Crest and hop in the car if you want to do the arcades or rides. You'll be close to the beach no matter where you go.
