I see what you mean about how some people take this question. How bizarre.
Anyway, the first thing that comes to mind when I think of purple is eggplant. Sorry, not very interesting. I guess it's because I used to have to peel eggplant once a week when I was a kid. (Tuesdays...eggplant night)
