NO!! I agree with you, that has got to be the ugliest vehicle I have ever seen, and I have been around many years. I wouldn't have one if they gave it to me. There is no wonder why the big three auto manufactures in the U.S are in trouble. They all have taken on the mentality that; they are going to shove anything at us, and we will buy it. Right now; there are almost no American made vehicles that are even worth having. Why do they think we want 27 computers running the wind-shied wipers? The Aztec looks like the moon rover lol. Why can't they just ask the people what they want, instead of just making stuff assuming we will buy it?
I said the windshield wiper thing as a joke! Honestly; How much over kill does the big three incorporate? Every great idea is only great if the public buys it, and from the way they are closing factories, it doesn't look to me like the public is buying it. Anybody that thinks the Aztec will sell, has got to be smoking something. What ever happened to (R&R) research & development? Every seemingly great idea comes at a cost to the consumer, shoving crap down the consumers throats is one thing, but making us like it is another. There was a day when you had a choice of what was put in a vehicle, and now it seems you take what they make.
Glad to put in my 2 cents worth!!!

Most of the AMC line up from the 70s were down right ugly, but I don't know if they are uglier than the Aztec!
Pontiac must have put in overtime planning to make it that ugly.
The sad thing is; some engineer was proud of that body style!
Pretty scary huh?

How about a PT Cruiser, or a Honda Element (that has seriously got to be the most god awful ugliest thing ever), or the other boxy thing I think it's a Scion or something. Pontiac's LeMans in the early 90s was not pleasing to the eye. Most cars out of the 70s and 80s were really ugly (except muscle cars). And I'm sure there are plenty of others.

"Ugly" is subjective. There are very many ugly cars out there and have been ever since cars were invented. I happen to dislike the styling of the Aztec, but then, I also don't like the styling of the 1957 Studebaker, or the '70's era AMC Pacers, or 1960's Cadillacs, or ... well, you get the picture! Ugly is a matter of personal taste. Live and let live!

All modern cars (1980's and afterwards) are ugly, unless they actually look like they were made before the 80's, like the Jeep Wrangler. I personally find any futuristic car to be hideous. I don't go to auto shows because some of the cars there are ugly enough to make me cry. They bring a whole new meaning to the word "tragic".

Yea, right... Domestics can't build cars Americans want, because they use computers to control windshield wipers. You've got to be high.
I'll admit the Aztec style is debatable. Personally, I like them depending on the color and wheels. For instance, I think the red looks like a giant tomato. But the Yellow with chrome rims is sweet.
As far as using computers to control things, you can thank the japanese for that. Or more to the point, those who buy japanese cars for the neato gadgets. I'd be much happier if new cars could cost about $10,000 less, but that ship has sailed, I think.

As for Brett's comments:
"anything that is not made in amrica... we should ship them all back... dont put down pontiac..."
the pontiac aztek was assembled in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. Should we ship it back to Mexico?
