I'm asking this because I am one of the few blacks that I know listen to rock music. When I play my rock music around my friends that dont listen to it, they act like it's going to blow their ears out or something. Please tell me why???

(I THINK THEY WOULD LIKE IT IF THEY GAVE IT A TRY)

Rock music is actually the brain child of blacks. I personally dont listen to it because now a days it sounds like a bunch of cry babies screaming over drums, some of it is so bad it makes me want to go listen to Beyonce scream and holla at the top of her lungs. No offense, to anyone. Maybe its just not their scene.

I never heard of us not liking rock music we invented rock music that,s right black people invented rock music Little Richard and if you can find anyone who played this type of music be for him let me know the black people who don,t like rock have never open their minds to it and they are missing some great music not just because most rock bands now are mostly white just because they are good long live rock and roll

I have never heard of anyone, black, white or otherwise being "scared" of rock music. It just depends on their preference. Some white people have the same reaction when they hear rap music. Then again, some people of all races have that same reaction. Its not just a black or white thing.
I'm black, and though I wouldn't consider myself a "fan" of rock music. But there are songs that I like. Mostly the older stuff. Skid Row, Poison, old Bon Jovi, stuff like that.

Around here I don't think the majority are scared of rock music. I switch from rap to rock frequently.

I love rock music. I play the guitar, the bass and the piano. The Strokes is my favorite band of all time. I also love Sondre Lerche, The Brazilian Girls, No Doubt, Joe Cocker, almost any Classic Rock you can throw at me... and the list goes on.

The reason is because they might find it satanic, weird, or strange.

But Rock, to me, is the same as Rap, athough it depends what the song is refering to.

I will listen to Rock, but only once in a while. I prefer to listen to Rap and Hip Hop, but my favorite genre right now is Punk Rock.

scared of rock music? What gives you such a ridiculous notion. Perhaps they just think it's no good. If you have friends why don't you ask them.

I'm not black but my guess is they would be accused of "acting white". The same can be said of whites listening to rap as "acting black". I know, sad isn't it?
