I was parking the car (less then 5mph) and accidentally move the shifter (auto) from D to P, made a short of griding noise, but still drives fine, park works and lever seems to shift gears fine. Should I be worried?

It'll be fine.

There are detents that the lock mechanism slides into to keep the transmission from moving when placed into "P".

The lock didn't have a chance to slide into place untill the car stoped all the way.

I don't think you need to worry. When you put your car in the park position, you are engaging a pawl into the teeth of the flywheel. It was simply grinding against those teeth before engaging. I wouldn't worry about this one, but you shouldn't do it again.

Naw. The gears grinding sound bad but unless you really jam it into park it didn't hurt anything.
