If water from the continent moves to the ocean through streams and rivers, then those same lakes, rivers, and streams would have to get their water from somewhere. That water comes from the oceans through rain and snow.

But if you throw in the effects of global warming, then I'd say that the oceans are slowing getting a net movement of water from the rivers as the oceans take over more surface of the Earth.
