The "40 week gestation" is based upon the first day of your last period. So any online calendars and such will have your date start on that day. A blood test probably measured actual levels of hormones, which they estimate your ACTUAL pregnancy being 2 weeks along.

So when someone usually says they are 6 weeks PG, often times they actual pregnancy only started 4 weeks prior, but most doctors and websites and books and such don't know your conception date and work off the first day of your last period. I know that's how both my doctor AND all the online stuff goes for me-- i'm estimated at 36 weeks.

This is why they always say due dates can be +/- 2 weeks.

Here is a website:

http://baby2see.com/development/index.html

Your Estimated Due Date: Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Estimated Conception: Wednesday, March 7, 2007

You are 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant.

About 36 weeks remaining.

the blood test would show age of conception, but they'll judge you based on the first day of your last period and estimate due date from there

Well I would not trust the web because all the things you see on the web are not true I would just go by what your doctor says

I have found that most doctors go by the first day of your last menstural period... I am pregnant now. My first day of my last period was October 16th, 2006... and I am now 23 weeks by my OB/GYN's count!

Usually they go by the last day of your last period because usually no one knows exactly which day they concieved.

blood tests and expected due dates are harly ever right.... ask your mom how far she thinks you are... tel her all your symtoms and stuff and she should be able to tell you... our pregnancy cycles normally match up with either our mother's or grandmother's so just ask the older people in your family
