there are those who believe that in the End Staal will be much better then Malkin.. any thoughts?

First of all, mad props for the Battlestar Galactica reference.
I think they will be about equal, Staals long reach makes him an excellent penalty killer, while Malkin will probably be better on powerplay and even strength

Too early to tell. Staal certainly had the heritage to be a winner, but this isn't exactly horse racing - it will come down to who can stay free from injury, and if/when they move on from the Penguins, are they able to intergrate themselves into a new lineup with the same skill. Some players flourish when they have the team on their shoulders, some crumble - so how far they go may be based on how their off-the-ice decisions go.

Malkin will be a better player. He has more raw talent and playmaking ability. Staal is great too though, and he's from a true hockey family.

Two different kinds of players. Malkin could become another Alexi Yashin (mails in his playoff efforts)
