I just turned 65 today, so be nice, okay? I don't feel old, but when I look in the mirror, I can almost see myself aging. GAG! I hope someone tells me that your only as old as you feel and that it's just numbers. LOL.

If you're healthy and fit, it's just a number, if you not then it's old.
If you talk to someone 30 or younger, it's old, but if you talk to someone over 80, They'll still call you "Kid".
It all depends on whom you're talking to.
I'm 56 and get a shock when I look in the mirror, because I see my Mom and not me. My mind still thinks I should look like I did when I was 20.
Needless to say I don't look in the mirror to often.

First I agree...you are only as old as you feel...but to answer your question....today's average life span in the US is 75+ years. So middle aged would be 38 years old (approximately). Some people consider 50 to be middle aged (on set by the so called mid-life crisis). However, today's day and age, many people are doing things at a later age (getting married, having children). Age is only a number and if you're happy with your life and how you've turned out there shouldnt be a problem...you should be happy. As they are now saying 40 is the new 30.

I don't think of 65 as old, it's the upper end of middle age.

But to be honest, I think you are only as old or young as you feel. You can be 65 and still feel 25 inside or you can be 65 and feel 105 inside, it's all about your atttidue and lifestyle.

HTH : )

P.S. Happy Birthday!!

In the field of Gerontology (the study of aging), you would be considered young-old vs old-old for the 85+ set. However, we are living so long now that I personally feel like you're middle-aged until you hit 70. Happy Birthday!!!

First and foremost "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"

you are definitely as old as you feel... Old is a bad choice of words in this situation... you have lived and will continue to live... Age can't stop you from living a fulfilled life. I'm 29yrs old and I can't wait to get older.
