Hmm, well first let me say that of the two, REM is by far the superior band. They have been around since the 80s and have the staying power to last well into the next decade if they keep writing.
Favorite REM songs: It's The End of the World as We Know It, What's the Frequency, Kenneth?, Losing My Religion, Orange Crush, Bad Day, Strange Currencies.
Favorite Coldplay songs: Yellow, Clocks, Speed of Sound
