i just got a lima shovelnose cat and he eats alot of feeder fish i was wandering just how many he should eat

really depends on the size of the feeders and the current size of this potentially monster fish. You know these guys easily top a foot even in tanks, right? Very cool fish though. Drop them in until his belly bulges a bit, but not too much. Feed him once a day or so this way. They also love worms of most any type and will eat various large meat items like fish filets or beef heart. Here's a pretty good link about them:

All the research I did doesn't specificially say how much they are supposed to or able to eat. I would get the phone book out, start calling exotic fish stores and see if anyone there can point you in the right direction.
