People who say unions are socialist do not understand the concept of them...which is not anyone's fault since unions behave now in a way that portrays them as socialist.

A union is basically like all the workers getting together to get their fair share of the profit since they ARE the ones who make the product. Now unions came into being because the Corporations then, and now, have not followed the true path of capitalism which is that the corporation puts most of the profit BACK into the company, increasing wages, r+d, benefits, etc. Why? Because a happy worker is a more productive worker which nets you MORE work. Then what do workers who have money do? Spend it, more they have to spend the better the economy which means MORE money for corporation.

Now corporations got greedy and hoarded all the money and gave none to workers which was profitable in shot run but long run was not the capitalist way to go...so unions were formed to address this imbalance.

Now both unions and companies waver on what they are supposed to do and none follow capitalism anymore since they are all greedy bastids

Yes unions are a traditionally socialist ideal. But as a member of one, I can tell you they have no real power. Under the Taylor law we can't even strike.
