I would like to get my stepchild removed from her biological mothers care. If that is even what you want to call it. The mother is unfit.
She has a 4 year old girl who has had lice since July of 2006 (for one man).
Then her 1 year old has been catching lice from the sister since 11 months and I have to take care of it(for my hubby).
Then she has another baby but it's a boy that is 3 1/2 months old fo another man(that's right... she got pregnant for another man about a month after giving birth to my stepchild).
Her inspection sticker is over due by 6 months.
Her house is nothing but filth.
I have tried informing social services and the sheriffs department but nothing can be done about her being so neglectful to her two girls. Should I just sit back and do nothing? I have no rights to these children. But I wish I could give them a future.

Have your husband file a complaint. If the biological father is worried, they'll look into it. Then hire yourselves a good lawyer and take her to court. FYI though, my mother in law took such bad care of my husband when he was little that one night she fell asleep drunk and the house caught on fire. She crawled outside with my then 2 year old husband and she passed out in the grass. His father found him curled up next to her wearing nothing but a diaper in the cold wet grass. But she still had custody. Family court is a distaster, with the mother keeping custody most of the time even though she doesn't deserve the kids anymore. Good luck to you though, you've got a long hard road ahead of you.

If they are your husbands biological children than you will have to go through a custody battle. You should get a decent lawyer, and you can probably use the school nurse as a witness to show neglect(b/c of lice problem).
Be careful b/c it is their mom, so don't talk bad about her around them.
