So they can drive. Why wouldn't they get one? It makes it easier on the parents not having to take them everywhere they want to go. I got a car a few months before I turned 16. It wasn't brand new or anything, but its the car I wanted.

If I have paid for my own behind the wheel training, passed the test for a drivers license at age 16, and bought a car with my own money, who's going to stop me?

That is the law in most states. Not all parents buy teenagers a car at that age though.
