I do firmly believe that global warming is a myth. Al Gore, in the Congressional hearings, was asked to make a pledge not to use more resources than the average American. He refused. This tells me that the powers want us "lowly folks" to sacrifice so the well to do can do what they want. If the one who is tooting the horn won't do anything, what does that tell us?
Edit:
I would be remiss to say that we don't have an effect on the environment, and I do my part to cut down on energy usage, but when the person responsible for bringing to light this situation won't reduce his usage, again, I ask what are we to think?
Quoted from WND.com
But according to the Tennessee think tank, while the average American household consumed 10,656 kilowatt-hours last year, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 – more than 20 times the national average.

Don't listen to the contrarians who claim that global warming is a myth - it is simply ignorant to say that and irresponsible to spread that misinformation.
Of course global warming is, in part, natural. But there IS an anthropogenic component that is potentially dangerous to us and there IS something we can do about it.
Go turn off a light. Right now, where ever you are, there is probably a light that is on and doesn't need to be. Go turn it off. I just did.

There are some things that may help but the good thing is we should be doing them regardless for other reasons. We need to cut back on fossil fuel emissions. This means switching to alternative fuels like solar and fuel cell. This is good on almost every level. Even if it had no effect on global warming, it would still reduce pollution and reduce our dependance on middle eastern oil.

you can also do things like replace your regular light bulbs with CFL bulbs. Not only will that use less power, but your electric bill will go down.

The temperature of the earth rose about 1 degree in the last 100 years. Some of it is probably normal climate change and some people say it's caused by humans. There's no doubt some truth that it's some of both but nobody knows the ratio. The chicken littles say it's all man made but since the temperature of Mars and Pluto are increasing and we don't live there, it's hard to believe we are the main cause. Since there is probably a significant portion caused by nature (The sun is emitting .05% more energy per decade), there's basically nothing we can do to change it.

Nothing. Nobody or no amount of money can do anything to stop, change or 'fix' nature. Nature has always done whatever it pleases and always will. Everything man has ever tried to do to change nature has always been a collosal failure with billions of $$$$$ wasted in the equally wasted effort.
The only thing we can do is go on with life and adjust to natures changes. And that is the ONLY thing we can do.
