Oh my dear contractions are the worst part of labor. If you are on epidural during labor you will be fine and wont feel a thing, contrcations are felt but no painful as when you decide to do it without the drugs.

Pushing is not bad, just gets you really tired and you just want to finish with it. My labor was induced and you have nothing to worry about that. Once i was induced in less than 2 hours i had my son!

I had to be induced with my last one, 5 months old now, cause my water broke but I wasn't having any contractions. It's normal to be scared about something you haven't been through. Basically you're given a p-drip, Petocin drip, through an IV to start your labor and keep it going, everything turned out fine for me, they start out with a slow drip and increase it over time, I was in labor for about 5 hours. From my expericence and everyone I know that's had to be induced, it makes labor more painful, it makes your contraction longer, stronger, and closer together. I have three girls and the last one was definately the worst labor I've ever had. For me the contractions are worse than pushing, with my first one my epidural wore off about the time I started to push and the push pains weren't that bad to me it felt like alot of pressure on my hips. The contractions are just horrible, I think. Hope this helps and I hope I didn't make you anymore scared. Best wishes.

Yes it's normal to be scared. I have been induced twice (barely missed a 3rd, I went into labor the night before it was scheduled). The first indcution I was 12 days overdue and pretty ripe, so they broke my water at about 11 AM started a Pitocin drip an hour after that and I had my son in my arms 4 1/2 hours later. It was very hard and intense and no time for an epidural BUT after a 29 hour first labor all natural it was a blessing to have it over with so quickly. I felt so good afterwards that I was walking aorund my room 20 minutes after he was born I kid you not. The 2nd induction didn't go as well my cervix wasn't as ripe and ready (12 days overdue again) and they had to insert Cervidil first to ripen my cervix. That was hell and then I labored all day and dilated nowhere. So they let me rest for the night then started Pitocin drip at 6 AM next morning. I had him 6 1/2 hours later at 1230PM. Induction all depends on how ready and ripe your body is for it. Do a search for "Bishop's score", and this will give you some idea of how likely it is that an induction will go smoothly for you. It's a quiz that goes by your effacement, dilation, station (where the baby is at in your pelvis) and so on. Good luck...I hope I don't have to have another one this time...

Relax, calm down. You will go in and the doctor will explain everything to you, and if you have any questions, ask. Most likely you will be given an IV and they will give you medication through there that will jump start your labor. The contractions are the worst part. But usually with inducing the labor goes faster, which is good news for you. My advice to you, is to find a focal point and just breath through them. Don't hold your breath. And listen to your doctor! They will be telling you what they need you to do through out the labor and delivery, relax and listen. And hopefully you will have no complications. It's normal to be scared. Everyone is. But look at it this way, Tomarrow you will be a mommy. You will get to hold your bundle of joy in your arms and be proud, and happy that it's all over. Good luck and congrats. I am happy for you....

Well in all honesty, being induced is that bad, but i have heard they make the contractions a little stronger. And I wish I could ease your fears about the whole labor thing, but I had an epidural with my first child and with my second one I went natural. I prefer natrual because it was simple and easy and not that painful because I'm a strange person that has a very high tolerance for pain. I remember being in the hospital and having a nurse check me and laugh at me because I was on the phone with my cousin laughing while in full blown labor sitting at 7 cm while a 19 year old girl was down the hall screaming for drugs and she was only 2 cms dialted. So it really just depends on your tolerance of pain, but i would give natural child birth a chance and see if you can handle it.

I was induced, 18 hours later I had two beautiful baby boys. It really wasn't a huge deal. After I was induced I had an epidural and slept through a large part of my labor. Good Luck, everything will be fine.

i was induced with both of my pregnancies so its all i know but the contractions are really bad. you get know time to work up to the bad ones. these come on quick and strong. i got an epidural with both of mine i waited to see if i could do it but them ended up with one each time. and once i got the epidural it took no time at all for things to move along. it really calms you down and relaxes you. i went in at 5am with both and i had my dd at 5-ish and i had my son at 3-ish. i only had to push 5 times with dd and 3 times with my son.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU. just think sometime tomorrow you will be holding your baby and it will get you thru!!!

oh and don't eat too much today...word of advice. especially after dinner. eat very light. trust me!!
