Ok I do not agree with the typical person on these situations. I know I have heard "you never hit a woman" 1000 times. However if a female hits you like a guy you have every right to defend yourself..
If she hit another woman, that other woman could hit back right? Why is it different?
If you are gonna throw punches, be prepared to be hit. Women fight for equal rights all the time.. right?
I am not saying wail on a woman by any means. But if she slaps you, slap her back... don't beat her.
Women cannot just go around hitting people and then crying because they get hit. Yes hitting is never the answer... however neither is being a punching bag.
I did assume you were a male by the way, sorry if I was wrong.

If you stop it forcefully then you become the abuser . There is no winning in abuse . You just have to be the better person that you are.

Of course it is. Abuse is the act of inflicting harm (mental or physical) on others. Nothing about whether or not they defend themselves.

Have you said "stop!" yet? Maybe your spouse doesn't know that what they're doing is objectionable to you since you allow it. Escalating force would be the way to go if you absolutely can't avoid this person. Verbal resistance, barrier resistance, reciprocal resistance.

i'm assuming someone is voilating you bodily? no one has the right to touch another person inappropriately or cause physical harm to them... it's a crime.
otherwise, this question is very unclear.
perhaps you might explain further.
