About 3months ago I decided to cut off my best friend after she started doing drugs (esctasy, weed, coke, etc.) and started becoming verbally abusive towards me and my husband.
I was a few months pregnant and I felt she needed help and being in my situation it was a hard thing to do but the best for my family.
After I told her I dont want to talk to her anymore, she basically went insane: calling, text messaging, hacking into my emails to see what i was doing, harassing my friends, etc.
This has continued for 3months!! I changed my numbers and we happened to move a few miles away but the emails dont stop. And they have gone from harrassing to threatening me. She has told me she hopes me and my child die and has said she cant wait to see me on the streets one day.
I know i can file a restraining order but they take alot of time and paperwork and i was wondering if I could do anything NOW?!

if she in fact threatened you... that is a crime, and should be reported to the police. Do that immediately.

A restraining order is not as difficult as you think. These are routinely granted, usually on the same day that that the petitioner files. If you file a criminal complaint, the petition for a restraining order is a shoe in.

good luck to you. don't let that pscho-biatch affect you any longer. The stress is probably affecting your baby. Take control.

Next time she contacts you in a threatening manner call the police. Have your friends call the police when she harrasses them. Meanwhile, get the restraining order. Everything that you listed except for calling + text messaging (unless she's doing it excessively - in which case you could plausibly make a harrassment claim) is illegal. But first, go to your local police station and talk to an officer. See what they can do to help - they'll let you know all of your options.

Print out all her threatening emails, save all her phone messages and call the police to get a restraining order. You don't want to take any chances. If you didn't want to go that far yet, you could at least send a certified letter in the mail (certified she has to sign that she received it will help you later in court) outlining the emails and messages and that you want to end the friendship and you never want to hear from her or see her again. Or, you can have a lawyer do it.

wow that's pretty scary. If I were you, I know it sounds like it would take along time but I would fill out those restraining order papers. In the mean time I would suggest you talk to her family and maybe tell them about the emails she has threatened you with. They might be able to get her some help.

If you are being threatened call the police.
As for the restraining order, it is probably worth the time and effort. Call the courthouse and see what you have to do.

save all messages left, text, phone, letter any correspondence she sends, the next time she contacts you contact the police, show them what you have in your possession, the police will contact your 'friend' and give her a warning. Look at getting a restraining order and placing it on her, if she steps within 500 feet of you after that it will become a police matter. Good luck.
