Most schools block it because:
1) They don't want students wasting time playing on MySpace.
2) Because of the pervs and predators hanging out there.
3) Because MySpace is also being used as a cyber-bullying tool.
And in the case of #2 and #3, they don't want to be involved in a lawsuit because they allowed access to MySpace and someone got hurt or in trouble as a result.
Since they own the computers, they also get to make the rules. Wait a few hours and go back home to do MySpace. The site will still be there!

Accessing unauthorized web sites through web proxies is a violation of the school computer usage policy. You can get suspended and/or banned from using school computers. Use school computers for school work and myspace will be there waiting for you when you get home. Do you want your teachers and school administrators knowing what you are posting on myspace anyway?

Since most schools have HOT SPOTS and if you have a notebook and it's wireless you can access it from your machine... If not ask a buddy or friend to use their laptop.
Then you won’t be in violation of the school computer usage policy.
