So if I where to cut my exhaust pipes off about few inchs past the muffler right before it makes a bend over axle which is Flow Master 40 series would I get more sound and resignating sound and deeper sounding from my system. The current system I have 318 engine with shorty headers y pipe to cat and dualed out from flow master I am wanting to cut the pipes off like I said before would this sound better?

I has dual going out from the muffler its single in and dual out

Its not car its truck Dodge Dakota 1993 extended cab.

If you cut them it won't change the way it sounds at all, why would you even think that it would.

Get bigger pipes like mine that are about 21/2 to 3 inches wide, nice deep throaty sound. Forget about cutting them as I said, since it won't do squat when it comes to getting the deeper sound that your looking for.

Buy some aftermarket off road pipes and get rid of the catalytic converters. That would give it a deeper sound and more power. Being a truck off road aftermarket crossover pipes should be easy to get.

well it would create a louder atmosphere in the cab of the vehicle. it would sound alright but better if u ran duals out the back.

If he gets rid of the catalytics converters wont it not pass smog?

the deepest loudest sound comes from a Cherry Bomb muffler.

Go with larger diameter tail pipe. 2" or more.
