No one in their right mind should say that because it is not true. This is a common fact well known. It is not false history, only misconception or general ignorance.True history is never false, only that which people choose to believe.

Read Lies my Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen. I hate history, but this book was Really rather interesting! It points out many misconstrewed ideas and straightens out facts. Look it up!!

That the United States was unique in starting slavery. Slavery was around long before anyone in the U.S. took slave one. The U.S. IS unique in one respect: ending slavery. The biggest losers with the end of slavery in the U.S. were black slave traders in Africa. I could come up with lots of other nonsense perpetuated by the PC crowd, but I had to get that one in.
