Personally, I think that's what's wrong with kids today. Not enough a*ss whooping going on and too much mouthy kids running the adults.

Yes they did. And I had a healthy fear of my parents.

I work in a field that deals with abuse and neglect. In the state I live in I make sure to tell parents that according to the law they are allowed to physiclaly discipline their children as long as they don't leave any marks.

I even told my boss that when I have children I plan on spanking them. That didn't go over too well.

Parents should not be afriad of their children. Parents who are like that have children who grow up to steal cars or kill people..

Just as long as people don't beat their childrne it's all good!!

Yes they did, and I completely agree with you 100%. Kids can get away with anything nowadays without any punishment. Being "grounded" or having a "time out" is no punishment at all. All that does is give kids an excuse to sit on their @sses and play xBox or screw around on the internet.

They sure did! And I do the same with my son if he gets out of line. He knows the difference between right and wrong. I have explained to him that we have rules and if YOU break them then its YOUR fault you are getting a spanking. Not mine. Cause he used to get real mad at me when he would get a spanking. His dad's family doesn't believe in spanking. Good thing he lives with me and not his dad!

Yes, it was rare but it never hurt us any. In fact I think it made us better people. We learned that if we did something wrong there were consequences to be had.
