What a fun question!

Do an easter egg/scavenger hunt. You could even dress up as an easter bunny with a basket to hold his eggs --- a fab easter bunny, not of the playboy ilk, but hey if that's your thing, you do you. Use the plastic eggs that open and place the clues within them. They are really really inexpensive! Be creative with your clues, like giving a real clue in every 10th egg and have him figure out which clues are legit. Some clues could be true or false questions he must answer correctly before moving on to the next egg. Some I think should be specific questions like what did I wear when we went to ....??? Personalize the clues and questions to your relationship and mutual friends. Use trivia, the name of the street or intersection a favoorite cafe sits on. You are going to have to be very creative with this ---- 290 eggs is a lot or questions to come up with. This could be so much fun.

Make sure you number the small & medium eggs and have him follow the numerical order when opening them.

If you have been together for 290 days he should have a pretty good sense of who you are. You could use the "clues" to guide him to the 3 medium eggs with the last medium egg having the last clue to get to the really big egg. Make the last clue a riddle or something really really hard. Oh, he must wear bunny ears while having his hunt.

In the big egg, you can fill it with a menu, the ingredients for the meal on the menu, a bottle of wine, a personalized CD candles, bubble bath, IOU coupons, etc. for the two of you to enjoy that evening.

If done correctly the scavenger hunt could take hours and then you can make dinner together and relax for the rest of the evening. I think this can be done relatively inexpensively since you are on a budget and I bet no one else has done it for him.

I agree that Easter is not typically a romantic holiday but the world could use a little mor romance. I am not sure of your religious background but if you are in any way religious just remember what it is really about.

Oh my goodness, this could be so much fun for the both of you! I plan personalized parties on the side, please feel free to email me if you want other suggestions. I could go on and on so please pardon my rambling.

Easter is about our Lord coming back to life and defeating sin and death for us all. What does your boyfriend have to do with that? It's not V-day, it's Easter.
