It took two hours to run a scan on my computer, at the bottom of the scan were names of programs...were those files on my computer or were those what it was seeking to destroy?

The names in the status bar during the scan are the things it is looking for. If you have a lot of files and other things running during the scan it can take a long time, but 2 hours is very long. You might want to check for updates, then reboot into Safe Mode to run the scan.

after the scan, it should have little boxs next to the bad files it picked up. most of the files spybot picks up you should put in a check mark and have spybot fix them. two hours is a bit long, either you have a slow processer or you have too many other programs running. after you fix the problems, reboot and run again, make sure you have it updated.

Those should have been the bad ones. You should have told the program to delete them.
