my problem is! you can't find venomous snakes like cobras on the island of madagascar

May be the scenery was good but the cobra was missing. So one has been brought in from elsewhere especially for the film.

you do have family of the cobra in the seas around madagascar-the hooked nose and yellow belly sea snakes
which are highly venomous
