Why should a mean and hateful woman deserve respect?

Hahahaha ... too true. My opinion is that this is a spouse issue. If either spouse is 'emotionally dependent' on their mother, they follow her instead of their own 'inner-voice'.

Mothers tend no need some admiration from their children ... and strong willed mothers get it at any cost.

Most mother-in laws think that we are taking their sons away from them. They think that their sons will forever be their sons and nothing else. But in reality, sons become husbands and fathers. They move on by creating their own family. However this is huge reality check for mother-in laws. Mother-in laws still think that they can control their sons after they get married and they also think that they are the only women in their sons' life. It takes many many years until mother-in laws come to their senses. I recently broke up with my bf because of his mother. She still treats him as if he is still 5years old....sad but true, mother-in laws need to get over it already!!

It's all in the attitude of the daughter in law. You need to respect her and be polite to her - after all, she raised the man you love and married.
