You didn't say how old your baby was, or what your baby eats: breastmilk, formula, solids?
If you think your baby's weight is a real concern you need to see the pediatrician to rule out any problems. As long as baby stays on the same growth weight curve, it's usually not a problem. It when a baby's weight slows down then there might be a problem. And remember if baby is starting to crawl, or walk, or become more active they are burning more calories and won't be increasing weight as quickly as before.
If you are breastfeeding make sure to feed on demand or atleast every 2-3 hours, wake baby up if they are sleeping through a feeding. Also make sure that baby is finishing one breast before starting the the next. The milk that comes out at the beginning is called Foremilk and has a lower fat content than the milk that will come out towards the end called Hindmilk.
You can also pump your milk and change the bottle out after a few minutes so that you collect the foremilk in one bottle and the hindmilk in another bottle. And feed the hindmilk (the fatty milk) to baby.
If baby only nursed a few minutes on one breast and then was done, next time you nurse offer that breast first so that baby will get the hind milk and then offer the other breast if baby is still hungry.
If you are formula feeding, they do make higher calorie formulas, but make sure you check with the doctor before changing formulas.

By making sure your baby gets enough food. If your baby is underweight your doctor may prescribe some supplements for him or her. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

feed him but make sure he doesn't get use to it because when he grows up he might want to keep eating and that's not going to be good for him!
