Why is it the world is turning a blind eye to what's going on there and not stepping in? Iraqi's aren't the only ones suffering under tyranny and oppression, genocide is occuring and the world's policing system has done nothing effective to stop it.

Because Sudan has oil and has used that oil to bribe France, Russian and China into blocking any effective UN action.
BTW - if you think that the violence should be stopped - are you willing to go there yourself and help?

Which theory do you want to hear?
Because their natural resources won't meet our needs (oil).
Because they are black (refer to Kanye West's quote "George Bush doesn't care about black people")
Because the "bad guys" aren't "threats" to the US
Because China has the real influence over that general region and has vetoing power over the UN comission that deals with the conflict (the US has to try to influence China)
Because the current generation is apathetic and doesn't understand what's going on
Because it would take too much time and energy
Because the conflict doesn't pose a direct threat to the EU or any of the [important] US allies
Etc.

Those places are another example of the UN in inaction.
Why don't you go get France, China, or Russia to step in there. They aren't doing anything at the moment and we're kinda busy.
