The best schools for engineering in New Jersey are Princeton and Rutgers. But both are in Central Jersey. But let's face it -- Jersey isn't that big.

There is a big drop off in quality between them and the #3 university in NJ -- which is probably the College of New Jersey in Trenton. As for the North, NJIT and Stevens Institute would be your best bets.

Neither is a bad school -- but if you can get into them, you could probably do better.
