They are probably racist, what do i do?I only moved there cos it is closer to university?

Actually, goths tend to be the some of the most open minded and egalitarian people out there. How can you be living with them and not even know them? Get to know them, you might be surprised. And why should your family care about who your roommates are, they just want you to be happy.

What do you mean by "they are probably racist"? I'm assuming you aren't white, but don't assume based on someone's style and race that they are going to hate you. To be totally honest, you sound like the descriminatory one. Not every white person who dresses "goth" is a racist freak. Have you actually had a real conversation with any of these people? Get to know them before you pass judgement. For someone so concerned with being prejudiced, you should have thought of that.

Move somewhere else if you hate them too much. I don't think goths are racist usually. Your family has a problem with you living with whites? That sounds more racist to me than the goths probably are.

Don't worry about it, if something bad happens you can move again. Right now you should be worring about your education, rather than problems that haven't even started yet. As for your relatives, they should be supportive and understanding of your situation. The people you live with are probably really nice people, it sounds like you may be the racist one.

Uhm, you're assuming that they're racists because they're white- who's the racist, here? Anyway it's generally better to get to know your neighbors and who knows? maybe you'll even get along pretty well. Broaden your horizons, you know?
Anyway why would your relatives even care? And if they would, why do they have to know? Just get to know everyone that you can, and try to have a good time learning new things. That's what going to university is all about anyway.

i'm not even sure why you think goths are racist. lots of goths practise wicca, which is a religion that includes people of all colours, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender etc

sounds to me like you are pretty racist yourself; if its that bad, just tell them (if you have to) that it is a tempoary arrangement and you are looking for another place, but that this will have to do for now.(then actually look for another place) besides, they aren'y the ones living there.
