If you know her favorite songs from childhood or when she was a teenager... you might want to add them to your mix. If you only know what groups she likes, take that as a cue. I would stick with soothing back-beats, however, since labor is difficult enough without someone hurting herself trying to get her groove on. (Hey, it's been known to happen)

as a mom who has been in labor 5 times, thats a sweet idea, maybe she will listen on the way to hospital, but i don't think she will want to hear it during labor, but still do it , it will give her something to listen to in the hospital after

With my oldest we had Miles Davis and Jimmy Buffet going. And with my youngest we performed on Gary Jules song. while the contractions all started getting stressful i did no longer want the song on. It became too plenty a distraction. by utilising the top of the Gary Jules song i became yelling at my husband to tutor off the effing song. So contained in the top the song ended up ticking me off and that i do no longer think of it became the song determination.

I suggest making a compilation disc with Led Zeppelin's greatest hits. If that little munchkin isn't coming out when your friend is playing air guitar to that solo in Stairway to Heaven it ain't never coming out.

It is not in the hip/hop rap genre, but you MUST include "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd......

I think jazz / instrumental is more soothing, which is what she'll need.
