hey everyone. I have a child who i just finished with working last week with the continent globes & the planispheres anything in particular that i could do with him?? I am in the process of making continent books for the environment. But in the meantime what could i do with him?? his about 5years old. Feel really bad when he comes to ask me if we going to do continents everyday & always telling him the next day.

Also for continent booklets what can i put it? (dressing,foods,culture,....;)

Have you tried having him punch out the continents and make his own paper planisphere? I always have my students do that before they go on to continent study.

If so, do you have the individual continent puzzle maps? I would have him work with one of them. Just allow him to take it apart and put it together while learning the names of the countries in that continent.

If you don't have the continent puzzle maps, I would then have him match little plastic animals to the continent that they come from. (kangaroos, koala bears on Australia, giraffes, elephants, lions on Africa, and so on. As with all Montessori jobs, I'd make sure that it was self checking and therefore every continent had the same number of animals from it.

As far at the booklets go, I would follow the needs of people; food and water, shelter, transportation, spirituality, clothing, defense, culture.
