Whether you read Machiavelli or Marx, I don't think it has ever been much different. You hit the nail on the head. Plus, Somalis and Sudanese are black people (like Rwandans, Burundians, South Africans, and Congolese) and much of white America doesn't waste too much time thinking about them (sadly). Incidentally I'm white.

I mostly agree with doubt. But in americans somewhat defense, I didn't hear about dar fur until I saw it on the BBC news a couple of years ago. I was horrified. I started watching cnn and fox- brittney spears seemed to be more important to talk about. It makes me sick too. I talk about what is happening over there with people and no one had a clue about it. And, unfortunately, no one wanted to talk about it. Now my family is mad at me because I plan on going over there. Nice huh? I really hate our news stations.
