Is there a general site that one can go to in order to find out if someone is married?

Unfortunately if they got married in another state you have to call that state/county to find out. Also, if they are not using the same name it can get very complicated. Hire a private detective.

I'm not aware of a "general" site, but you could go to the site of the paper in the city he lives in to see if there is anything there... or you might just do a search on his name and see what pops up. Keep in mind that if he has a generic name, it'd be harder to find out because you'd have to sift some.

You can go to City Hall and look at the person's public records. But, instead of going behind that person's back, just ask that person.

Check the court house where they live and lived in the past..
