Civil Engineering is the best to major in. It is the most diverse and the most interesting. I know several mechanical and electrical engineers that are jealous of the neat projects I get assigned and the wide availabilty of jobs.

Engineering school isn't that hard if you put your mind to it! I sought out help when I didn't understand, and ended up graduating with honors.

Go for it girl, you can do it!

I have to disagree with the other engineers and say industrial engineering is probably the easiest out of all of them. I went into IE because unlike other engineering degrees, the concepts apply everywhere, so it is easy to move from job to job, unlike a EE who gets into a small segment of electrical engineering. I would rank them like this:

-Aerospace Engineering
-Chemical Engineering
-Electrical Engineering
-Civil and Mechanical Engineering
-Industrial Engineering

Hope this helps.

Hardest: electrical engineering
Easiest: civil, structural, or environmental engineering

I am an electrical engineer. It is a LOT of applied math -- at a level higher than calculus II. You will learn differential equations, vector calculus, and lots of applications of all of that math.

I personally didn't think it was that hard, but math came very easily, to me.
