They were named after provinces in england. The old hampshier and old jersey (although they don't acctually use the "old" in the term) is in england.

The Old ones are in England. Those towns are in "New England"....remember. York is also a town in England, hence the New Englander name" New York".

you do, they're in the UK also in the UK we have many other place names which we transferred over to america when we 1st colonised it New York was named after the northern town of York in the UK
