I have a problem with my mental game. I get distracted or unfocused really easily. When I'm playing if I start off good I will have a great game, but if I miss my first couple shots its hard to get back into it. What do you do when you make a mistake to get yourself back into focus?

This is quite common. Make sure you are familiar with the court and your abilities, maybe you are good but never overestimate or underestimate yourself. Take shots from your hotspot and keep doing it till you feel you are good. Play aggresive this will keep you in the game and never lack your defences this is when most players decide to take it easy and relax, but don't because your heart rate decreases and then you will miss more shots.

Make a lay-up. A lay-up is the easiest, most elegant shot in basketball history. the way the ball rolls right off the tip of your fingers. and the part when it either hits the backboar or swish into the net. Most people find it ok but for me it's a statement.

Hit an easy shot. Like in the paint, it gets you back into the feeling of scoring again and then you can get back your rythem.

i have the same problem i have add so i get distracted, just say to yourself to start alll over again and at the end of the quarter its a new game zone in and think of every movment....

Sometimes you are not going to shoot well. Good players mess up Great players know how to bounce back after they mess up. Just keep positive and keep trying.

Try to get to the free throw line. Hit a few of those and you should be ok.

wow the happens to me to! well for starters be relaxed its not the NBA right? try making a goal for yourself like get a basket every shift.. and set your mind to that goal

shoot easy shots like make a layup that will help you get back into it!
