I was listening to my iPod and it sudenly just turned off and I cant turn it back on but the batery was about 40% full

if it was 40% then u better recharge it to 100%...
when an ipod's battery goes down it tends to switch off sudenly and then needs recharging to switch on again...
this works for me..

Unless your ipod was purchased about 18 months ago then your battery is below acceptable lavels for playing. Charge your battery for at least 2 hours to get a good charge. regardless of what you hear, an ipod battery is only good for about 18 months at which time you will need to send it off to get another 1. The batteries do wear out like any other battery.
