Do I have to complete the cycle, is that how I’ll be able to stop taking them with any repercussions? Do they have to give me another med to wean me off of them? Why can’t I just stop taking Birth Control?

The reason I want to stop BTW is I don’t like all this weird stuff happening to my body, and I only started taking it to get rid of my cramps, but I’m not so sure now, I don’t like the fact that I’m still bleeding, and that it might higher my risk of cancer in some ways.

You CAN just stop taking the pill whenever the hell you want. The reason why doctors tell you to finish your cycle is because if you just stop half way into your cycle you might mess things up and throw your periods out of whack! Thats about all it would do if you just randomely stop taking the pills...

Possible Side Effects
The birth control pill is a safe and effective method of birth control. Most young women who take the Pill have none to very few side effects. The side effects that some women have while on the Pill include:

irregular menstrual bleeding
nausea, weight gain, headaches, dizziness, and breast tenderness
mood changes
blood clots (rare in women under 35 who do not smoke)

Some of these side effects improve over the first 3 months on the Pill. When a girl has side effects, a doctor will sometimes prescribe a different brand of the Pill.

The Pill also has some side effects that most girls are happy about. It usually makes periods much lighter, reduces cramps, and is often prescribed for women who have menstrual problems. Taking the Pill often improves acne, and some doctors prescribe it for this purpose. Birth control pills have also been found to protect against some forms of breast disease, anemia, ovarian cysts, and ovarian and endometrial cancers.

Hi , i found this off the net, it is possible you are experiencing some initial side effects that should clear once your body gets used to it. However cause you've decided that you want to stop taking them i'm pretty sure you just have to finish the rest of the pills in your cycle. You may get some mild abdominal cramps and irregular period once you stop but nothing too serious. You are going to the doctors tomorrow any way, so good luck with all that, hope you feel better soon.

You actually can stop taking birth control pills but expect a large period or maybe none at all for a month. Please have no sexual relations during this time as your body will be more susceptible to pregnancy. This is the main reason your doctor does not want you to stop.
Just be aware that if you wish to protect your body from being pregnant, birth control pills are still the best way. The whole decision is up to you anyway.

Hope this help you.

Any bleeding warrants urgent medical attention apart from stopping taking birth control pills. I am sure a thorough examination and diagnosis will cure you of cramps eventually.
