We can turn on the light at night but not turn on the dark during daytime. Possible use is drivein theaters during the day.

The only way to eliminate light is to absorb the photons. There isn't anything that will emit an "anti-light" that will cancel the light out. The only thing that that we know of that will completely absorb light is a black hole, and I don't think you want on of those in you living room.

Because dark is the absence of light. Therefor to achieve dark you need to remove/block/turn off the light.

Dark is a lack of light just like quiet is a lack of sound. They are not things we can produce like sound or light.
