What can we do about saving/bringing back/help bring about good wholesome media?

Question

I just bought the complete series of Christy on DVD. I first watched this series when I was much younger, and didn't have as much of an appreciation for it as I do now; as a Christian, I have a real appreciation and love for it.
It is true that there is Christianity related material in Christy, but the stories are absolutely wonderful, the characters are a joy to watch, and I love to watch the develpment of the characters as the series progresses. All the elements that make that series what is, is like the best ingredients for a great tasting stew.
I found out that the series was cancelled to make room for less family friendly programing. My questions for you are:

1. How can we help to bring media (like Christy, Sugar Creek Gang, etc.) into existance, and help keep them there?

2. What is currently out there that is similar in nature?

3. What are your thoughts concerning media like Christy, Sugar Creek Gang, and other Christian/family friendly media?

The only way to really do that is to stop supporting everything that is the opposite of that. But it's probably never going to happen, because people "crave" the stuff that movies are made of today.

P.S. If you like the Christy movies, you might like the Anne of Green Gables movies (with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie)

I agree with you. what I do personally is to use parental blocks on the TV, and I purchase DVDS from Featured Films for Families.

They offer very good shows that teach morals. There is a Satellite company called Angel net work, they show only Christian Television.

The best way to let our feelings be known, is to completely block all programming that we find wrong for our children.
Too many feel it is wrong for Children but will still watch the programs themselves.

Media goes by ratings, if people aren't watching they don't get the ratings.

Write to the Net works asking for more moral programming The only way things are going to change is for huge amounts of customers to demand that change and quit excepting that this is what is available so I will watch what is less disturbing.

The only way to get the media back in line with mainstream America is to use the Liberal Lefts playbook against them, and infiltrate the media outlets with like minded people. It took about two decades for the left wing wackos to get a strong foothold and get some of their ilk into powerful decision making positions, so patience and determination are virtues and keys to success.
