They can certainly hide in the bed frames, whether wood or metal. Mattress and box spring can be encased, but bed frame cannot be. The gaps in the joints are big enough to accommodate a few adult bedbugs, let alone the nymphs, remember the first instar is only 1mm in length. It's definitely not worth it, if you get bedbugs, you will pay a lot more than the amount you save now. But if you insist on getting it, at least rinse the joints with boiling water.

unless the frame is made of wood, then no, the bugs can't be transferred, but you have to clean it through washing with detergent and water, buy a new mattress for good measure...if it's made of wood and still looks sturdy enough to hold at least three (3) people then have it scrubbed with sand paper and repaint it...better yet, buy a new bed,so you wont be thinkin of bed bugs for a while..goodluck

Yeah they can, as far as i know. Coz i remember once i called a carpenter to fix the wooden frame of my bed, so he bought another one. Next thing i know is that i see bed bugs and it took a while to kill all of them coz they had time 2 spread. Just be careful buddy.

Umm, everyone has bedbugs. I've never heard of them being dangerous.
Side note, ever notice the difference in weight between a heavier older mattress, and a lighter new mattress? This is due to the dead skin cells and bed bugs contained in the mattress. You can't avoid them.

If it is just the frame then you have nothing to worry about. It just needs to be wiped down and sanitized. Get a lysol santizer spray, or somthing equivalent. If it comes with a padded head board then i would steam clean it. Hope this answers your question. Good luck!

No - bed bugs live in the mattress and box spring. You should be all set!
