Im training to teach english litriture to secondry school children, and i find the easyest way to work well with them is relate to them. I think back to my younger teenage yrs, eben though im not much older myself and think about what it is that i used to go through...love....hw....parties...drink....drugs and relate to that. One thing i always am is happy or laughing, and if u get to a satge where a whole class is in awe of u then u know ur doing ur job properly.
Kids get ored of the same routine and like teachers that are happy and origonal. I dance around most of my classrooms and always have a sense of humor. One kid was eating strwbeyyr laces in my lesson so i took them off him and just sat there laying them ou on my desk one by one and eating them. I know it was cheeky but if u do it while having a luahg they respect u for it, and everyone has a jjk and a laugh.

I also walk on my students desks at times as a bit of a jk. Some people say that this is irrisponsibe and children will not learn or understand, but if a child feels they can relate to u and rea;lise that u are just as weird and wonderfull as they are, then they really do respect u. All my students do thier hw for me,. not cause if they dont they know ill yell, but cause theywant to actully do it for me.

If ur finding teaching too hard or something u cant reli get to grips with doing, then maybe it isnt for u. I have tons of work to do and exams, but i wouldnt stop teaching for the world, and not being able to on somedays actully makes me unhappy.

u get to know kids and seeing them working well and getting thier gd grades makes u feel like u have really achieved something

I can't stand it anymore...I hope/plan that this will be my last year teaching. I still want to work with kids but not as a teacher. Teachers have WAY too much to put up with...only other teachers could really understand. In the meantime, I just keep trying to hang in there and not lose my mind.

I teach preschoolers (grade 000; 00; 0) basically your age group of 3-6year olds. Sometimes you walk in & you having the worst day ever & some little child will just say something which makes you feel all so good & feel really good about been a teacher. Or you will see them doing the cutest little thing & its something you will not see or hear in any other profession.

I rate i got the cutest, funniest little bunch of people anyone could ever ask for. Thank God this is my class for the next few months & hopefully for the next few years.

Its quite a good class. Love my little people to bits

Teachers can cope with just about anything because they are doing what they love, (I did) plus it takes a person with a high tolerance level ( I didn't).

you have to pace yourself and try not to get overwhelmed for those who said no weekend work and summers off thats false... a good teacher takes those times to prep for upcomming lessons and ideas so you are always on top of things. The key is not to get in over your head and just take a step back from situations and realize that maybe you have gone to far at times. Especially when students have tried your patience for the day. I teach high school and I sometimes get frustrated but I try to leave what happend for the day at school and start each day fresh. No grudges.

Some days I just have to cry. My students come from very low income homes and my heart really goes out to them. I can't be upset with them because they are product of their homes and good manners and morals are not taught at home anymore.
I just keep telling myself that I am doing the best that I can for them and that I will somehow make a difference, (no matter how small it may be)
...and I also look forward to the summer ; )

You cope by knowing that you and your efforts are making a difference in a childs life.

Knowing the importance of my work in the development of the world - it is a great reward to see former students being successful and doing great and interesting things- especially when you have worked with them to overcome and to learn - best words heard are "thank you for helping me get to where I am now"

I carve out at least 15 minutes every day to take care of paperwork only. It makes for less catch-up at the end of the week.

I meditate every night, calling to mind the children in my care. I ask their angels to enlighten me, and to guide me in teaching them.

I schedule time at home where I can relax.

I keep lists of things I need to remember, and I don't feel guilty about writing everything down, even things I 'should' remember.

I laugh!
