The Stand. I don't read horror novels, but my brother does, and he insisted and insisted that I read The Stand. That's his absolute favorite book of all times. He said it's not really horror, so I finally gave in and read it a while back. I got the unedited version from the library. Now I wish I owned it, so I could read it again. I may just have to go out and buy it at some point. It gives you a lot to think about. I'm so glad my brother suggested this book for me.

The Stand is his best book with it being second, but a much better author than King is Dean Koontz. i have never read a bad Koontz book, I wish i could say the same of King.

A short story in Nightmares & Dreamscapes,
I think its called the " the 10:00 crowd" or close
to that, its about seeing alien freaky bat peeps
when go thru nicotine withdrawal. good stuff.
And Salems Lot is his best novel for me.
( & the first I read of his )

Salem's Lot.

He doesn't drop the ball on the ending, nor is it insanely sadistic, and it's not overlong or overblown with a deus ex machina ending like some of his later stuff.

The Stand
Salem's Lot
and....
IT---I couldnt sleep at night after that one...
I even like the one where the old coot had insomnia, that was very well told, too.

And Jesse's Game...Oh, and Rose madder.

CRAP..I like them all....however, I did NOT like From a Buick 8 OR the Cell.
