When switched on the black screen is asking to introduce a bootable device and press any key. When the CD ROM (with Windows XP) provided by manifacturer is introduced nothing happens.
However, when I leave the CD ROM in and restart my PC it is able to recognize it and start trying to reboot. Yet when finished the following message appears:
"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow this steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run chkdsk /F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer."

I have also done an emergency floppy, but when introduced the following message
appears: "Widows could not start, because of a computer disk hardware configuration problems. Could not read from selected bootdisk. Check boot path and disk hardware. Please check the windows documentation about hardware disc configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information". I've tried to download 6 boot floppies, but looks like it is not possible to do so at present. I've also tried to do it through the "Last known good configuration" by pressing F8, again to no avail, as no options were available apart from floppy. When I entered the "BIOS set up utilities" by pressing Delete, under the main section the Primary IDE master and Primary IDE slave are NOT detected, while my user guide shows Primary IDE master: ST320413A and Primary IDE slave: Pioneer CD ROM ATA.
I do not know what's gone wrong, as my PC was working normally and I have not changed, installed or removed anything.

Call a hard ware engineer/ technician you might have to reformat too.

Whoa two problems it looks like. It seems that your hard drive has had it because it can't find system files to boot from on the hard drive, it might only need reformatting using the disk from your manufacturer.
What troubles me is that you get a stop error when booting from the disk (restarting to boot from a disk is working correctly). That would say that either the boot disk is corrupt or something else hardware related, probably memory, is wrong.
If you have no experience going inside your computer, which many people don't, you are much better off taking it to a professional technician. That might cost you though. Your computer really sounds like its got problems.

Restart your System with Win XP cd in it, press any key when you are asked to do so, you will find your way to the setup screen, continue as instructed till the setup detects other version of windows installed, once detected look at the lower part of the screen, it will say press R ot repair, press r.....this might fix the problem

Yeah that's a big big problem. Your going to have to start unplugging hardware and reseating your components to make sure that its alright. If your RAM is dusty, it can cause this error. If your graphics card it not properly seating you can get errors that are similar. If you have a bad component, you can get these types of errors. These are called "STOP ERRORS" and its one you don't want to see, because its a pain to troubleshoot.

I am not saying something is blown or anything. But if your not able to build a computer, you might have your hands full on this one.

Before this problem occur, did you install any new hardware or software. If so, try to see if you can boot into safe mode to remove the hardware or software.

You could have a boot sector virus. This is one of several issues noted for this particular error code.

Try this troubleshooting guide from Microsoft:

Note, sometimes they know what they're saying .... sometimes not. Seems like you have little choice but to at least try it.
