Rainforests don't have problems, and do just fine if you leave them alone. Humans cause problems to rainforests by destroying them to harvest lumber, farm domestic crops, or graze cattle. The danger to the environment of doing this is severe damage to biological diversity, oxygen production, carbon dioxide usage and sequestration, and global weather patterns. All this is widely known and discussed. Unfortunately, little action has resulted.

Tropical rainforests are home to an incredible diversity of plant and animal species. This diversity of species lives in a complex web of relationships. So if this complex web is interferred with, for example by logging as noted by the first response, it can negatively affect a web of related species. Because of this tropical rainforests are considered to be highly sensitive or highly vulnerable ecosystems.
