I wrote before about how I've been trying to become more firm and assertive, and about how I've felt a bit disrespected before, even when I emphasized that I didn't want to be disrespected since it'd happened in the past. Lately I've been fascinated with my fav movie "Me Myself & Irene," and the whole transformation doormat Charlie makes to obscene Hank. I've been relating to it more and more, and trying(consciously, sanely) to act more like a "Hank"(I guess you could say I'm a "Hannah" since I'm female LOL). And I've noticed that it's working!

For example, Taco Bell. Yesterday I was craving chalupas, and circled around the drive-thru at 11am, opening time. I even went somewhere else and returned, and 15mins after 11, the drive-thru STILL wasn't being attentive! So I called 1-800-TACOBELL while sitting at the drive-thru speaker(the employees were there, just not doing their job, so I knew they could hear me) and started placing a complaint against the company...

...Eventually they caught on to what was happening and took my order. When I got to the window, I reaffirmed that I'd been complaining about the tardiness(told ya I was a jerk), they apologized, then I took my food without paying. I don't know if they were planning to give me the food out of courtesy or not(they do that sometimes at Taco Bell if the service is bad), but they rarely give you the food first before you pay.

Then my ex. We got into a mutual text-message "war" last Friday, and he said mean stuff about my anatomy(not necessarily true stuff, I think he was simply trying to sound insulting, but it was still offensive), so I let my insults rip. I said stuff that will probably cause him to never want to talk to me again(called him white trash, drop-out, etc). But I don't care, b/c why would I want to ever associate w/ him again anyway after some stuff he did to me? And why should I care if he hates me? If anything, I want to show that I'm a force not to be reckoned with.

And then there is Mike. Some jerk who I was hanging out with. He knew I wanted to hook up, then would tell me that he had to drop off a friend and "would meet me at my apartment soon" then stand me up. I acted like a jerk by calling his phone many times and basically acting abusive, a tactic that my friend's ex used on her before and she still ran into his arms afterwards. (NIce guys and girls finish last!) Then we made up and he invited me out again, so I said "yes" then stood HIM up this time.

At my weekend job(I have >1 job), this dude was mocking me one day, saying people made fun of me, and basically being snotty. So I told him in a Hank-esque voice that if they had something to say, to say it to my face. I also told him he wished he could sleep w/ me but wasn't good looking enough to. The next day, he stopped on to check his schedule and I flat-out ignored him in a snotty way. Now he is trying all these ways to get my attention(funny how he wants my attention now).

So now I'm seeing that people are more interested in talking to me when I act like a snob/d*ck to them, I get more when I complain even if it's not in the most polite way, etc. That really shows that although being too aggressive is not moral and not the best way to be, being aggressive works a LOT better than being passive. Why is this? Why do I have to succomb to being a pretentious hard-head jerk to get better results or to feel more confident?

Sometimes you gotta put your foot down. I had to do that yesterday with a friend/business partner. I had enough and finally spoke my mine. Today I got an apology and a fix to the issue.

If - as is the case - nation's move to the bottom traditional denominator, then there isn't to equate music for music. Ireland will have to keep on with its Irish roots alternatively of meting out a music anyone can produce on a ultra-modern keyboard. All the songs had been crap besides Greece and Netherlands. Ireland had seven wins due to the fact that that they had seven exceptional songs with an Irish lilt.
